Visual Systems Healthcare exhibited its products at the Arab Health Show 2014, the largest healthcare exhibition and congress in the Middle East and Asia, attracting visitors and delegates from countries and regions that include Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Europe. Coventry University Hospital Case Study with Visual Systems Healthcare 2014
New Bespoke Printed Board for the Same Day Admissions Unit at Coventry University Hospital
The Same Day Admissions Unit at Coventry University Hospital is a very busy unit handling all elective surgical admissions for this large Midlands Trust. For a number of years, the staff had been organising their admissions using a small whiteboard, which was leant against a wall. The board was hand-lined and too small to allow all the information to be displayed, especially as the day procedure list has continuously increased in the past few years.
Visual Systems Healthcare, visited the unit and discussed a new board design, based on the staff’s improvement ideas that would make the information clearer and easier to display. The new Board for the Same Day Admissions was designed as a castor board so that both sides could be used.
Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Case Study with Visual Systems Healthcare 2014
Visual Systems Healthcare helped The Royal Free improve their patients’ experience and patient information in by designing a number of bespoke boards, that were successfully installed in 2014.
Firstly, to improve dignity and communication with patients, we have installed Patient Name Boards at the head of each adult and child’s bed. These boards have been customised so that it is clear which nurse is caring for the patient each day, which consultant’s care the patient is under and most importantly, the preferred name by which each patient would like to be addressed. There is also a whiteboard section for special requirements and notes and an adjacent pinboard for Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to attach any schedules and protocols to keep the ward walls tidy and free from bluetack and selotape.
Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Case Study with Visual Systems Healthcare 2013
Salford Hospital is now one of the best hospitals in the Country, thanks to the innovative ideas of its staff that were put into practice with Visual Systems Healthcare’s help in 2013. The Ward Information Board presented on the BBC News and ITV News was designed by a group of nurses at Salford Hospital and was custom manufactured by Visual Systems Healthcare. The notice board was designed to ensure that the hospital was being open and transparent about issues affecting its patients. Salford Royal also commissioned Visual Systems Healthcare to produce a Staffing Information Board aimed at addressing the understaffing issues highlighted in the Francis Report. As it is now essential and required that patients and visitors are aware of how many staff are required in the provision of care, staffing boards provide a simple and effective tool to present important information about planned and actual staffing levels.
Betsi Cadwaldr Health Board Case Study with Visual Systems Healthcare 2012
Visual Systems Healthcare was contacted by the Transforming Care Lead at Betsi Cadwaldr Health Board with a view to us assisting some of the Wards with products for their ‘transforming care’ process. Our experienced team member, Debbie, visited the Trust, met with the Lead, Ward Managers and Sisters and discussed their requirements. The Ward Lead on `Alaw Ward`, Jackie Jones, was keen to move ahead and equip her ward with staff and patient experience improving products, such as `Knowing How We are Doing`, ` Patient Status` and `Ward Patient Location Mapping` boards. The transforming care process was completed by equipping the ward with Visual Systems Healthcare’s Patient Record Holders.
